Datuk Seri Ibrahim bin Muhamad is formerly the Secretary General of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Sinergi Perdana in December 2010 and assumed the role of Chairman of Sinergi Perdana in June 2012.

Datuk Seri Ibrahim started his career in the civil service in 1978 with the Ministry of Finance where he served in various capacities for thirteen (13) years. Subsequently, he was posted to the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) in 1991. Datuk Seri Ibrahim was attached to MITI for almost eight (8) years in various capacities (including as the Director, Malaysian Trade Office at the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in Taipei and as Area Manager for Australasia at MATRADE’s Head Office in Kuala Lumpur. Later Datuk Seri Ibrahim served at the Economic Planning Unit at the Prime Minister’s Department for about one (1) year in 1999.

Prior to assuming his previous appointment at the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development in November 2010, Datuk Seri Ibrahim was the Director General of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). In addition, Datuk Seri Ibrahim has vast experience in the agriculture industry having served the Ministry of Agriculture for about nine (9) years from 2000 to 2009 in various capacities and portfolios including commodity development, strategic and macro planning, human resource management as well as monitoring and evaluations. Datuk Seri Ibrahim was the Deputy Secretary General (Planning) of the Ministry of Agriculture prior to his appointment as the Director General of MARA in January 2010.

Datuk Seri Ibrahim holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Dubuque, Iowa, United States of America and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from University of Malaya.
